Since late of last year 2022, Elon Musk set his plan to launch his satellites internet provider, Starlink in East African country, Tanzania with the significant impact on economy more especially providing a very reliable and affordable internet connection even in remote areas with poor infrastructure, ultimately boosting the country's digital economy.

The government of Tanzania United Republic of, is asking Elon Musk's satellite internet provider, Starlink, to meet the remaining requirements before it can operate in the country.
In this remark, the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) stated that, like any other company (VodaCom, Airtel, Halotel etc.. as network providers) Starlink needs to follow the proper procedures before being issued an operating license.

The Tanzanian government is insisting that Elon Musk's broadband provider Starlink meet all operational requirements before being allowed to operate in the country. The satellite internet constellation, operated by SpaceX, has already been providing internet connectivity in Nigeria and Mozambique.

However, the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) wants Starlink to follow proper procedures before being issued an operating license. TCRA's Director General, Dr. Jabiri Bakari, stated that, like any other company, Starlink needs to follow the necessary steps before it can start operating.

Minister for Information, Communications, and Information Technology Nape Nauye tweeted that the government had already replied to the Starlink Company with what they need to do in order to proceed with their plans. He emphasized that Starlink needs to complete all necessary documents before other procedures can follow.

Starlink's Unique Upgraded Services

Starlink's services were set to be available in Tanzania in the first quarter of 2023, and many believe its presence will strengthen the country's position in the digital economy and provide universal access to the internet and other technologies.Starlink provides internet connectivity using thousands of satellites in space that communicate with designated ground transceivers. The service would have a significant impact, especially in remote areas where the infrastructure is too poor to accommodate fibre cables.

Other Network Operators are Worried !
While some are excited about the potential impact Starlink could have, others are worried that major internet and phone providers will hinder its approval. Communications expert and media personality Maria Sarungi expressed her frustration with government censorship and high internet taxes in Tanzania and called for unfettered internet access.

Starlink has announced on its official website that its services will be introduced between January and March of this year, pending regulatory approval. Whether or not Starlink will have a significant impact will depend on how quickly and affordably the business can deliver its service.

As other network providers in Tanzania will not left behind, they need to improve their services for the current technological world demand. This generally comes into a fraud because they won’t be ready to let their operations down just to accept Starlink, remarkably its services will be better than the already existed Network operators.
